Creator of the internationally acclaimed Tarot of the Sephiroth and illustrator of the newly published Talking Monkey Oracle, Dan Staroff, artist, illustrator and author, has explored most mediums of the visual arts since he was old enough to hold a crayon.

Formally trained in painting and printmaking, (Brooklyn College CUNY, and the School of Visual Arts in NYC) his subject matter spans the gamut from the ridiculous to the sublime, tackling everything from Metaphysics to Mother Goose.

His illustrations, displaying a sophisticated and unique perspective (tempered by a somewhat jaundiced brand of humor) have graced the pages of books and national magazines, and his paintings have been included in group and solo shows from New York City to Maine.

His most recent paintings, combining the biomorphic automatism of Arshile Gorky and William Baziotes with the illustrative vision of Theodor (Dr. Seuss) Geisel, inhabit an organic and intimate landscape of color, light, vibration, and ultimately...unwavering optimism, as does the artist himself.
