Creator
of the internationally acclaimed
Tarot of the
Sephiroth,
Dan Staroff, artist, illustrator and author, has
explored most mediums of the visual arts since he was
old enough to hold a crayon.
Formally trained in painting and printmaking, (Brooklyn
College CUNY, and the School of Visual Arts in NYC) his
subject matter spans the gamut from the ridiculous to the
sublime, tackling everything from Metaphysics to Mother
Goose.
His illustrations, displaying a sophisticated and unique
perspective (tempered by a somewhat jaundiced brand of
humor) have graced the pages of books and national
magazines, and have been donated for use by numerous
educational and charitable organizations.
His paintings, a somewhat more personal undertaking, have
been included in group and solo shows from New York City to
Maine, as well as New York City’s International Art EXPO in
2007.
He has been a professional digital retoucher since 1999;
working for such clients as Liz Claiborne, Claiborne, Dana
Buchman, Detroit Bride, DKNY Jeans, Hanes, Kate Spade,
Lucky Jeans, Mexx, Monet Jewelry, New Jersey Bride,
Redbook, Shiseido, and Town and Country, and Verizon.
In 2009 he left NYC for the greener pastures of what once
was called the
“Valley of Heart’s
Delight”...known
today as Silicon Valley, California.
